(From Lindsay)
Tuesday morning was our travel day home. We woke up around 8am, ate breakfast one final time at the hotel cafe (I sure do miss their granola!) and took the train to the airport. We did a little shopping at the duty free store (hey - 3 ginormous Toblerone's for 10 euro is too good to pass up) and set out on our journey home. We were lucky to have a direct flight from Amsterdam to San Francisco and we both settled in to our 11 hour flight on KLM. KLM was great - each seat has it's own TV with tons of free movies, music and games. They also served us multiple meals and had tons of snacks out in the gallies. I thoroughly enjoyed my snacks and four movies (and the giant Toblerone we ate on the flight)! We arrived home safe, exhausted and already missing Spain!
Spending the first weeks of our married life in Barcelona, on the beaches of the Mediterranean and at a major sporting event was unbelievable and everything we could have asked for. A special thanks goes out to all of you who helped make this trip possible...we can't thank you enough for helping us to have this experience together.
If you're ever in Palo Alto and want to see more photos from the trip just let us know...we took about 900 while we were gone. Thanks for reading this and hopefully you got a sense of what it's like to travel with the Hampton's! And remember...we'll be preparing for Rio 2014 and our return to Le Tour in the south of France if you'd like to join us!
