(From Lindsay)
Monday was the final full day of our honeymoon. We slept in until around 9am and had breakfast at the hotel cafe. I really was enjoying these breakfasts with all of the fresh, organic, homemade foods! We set out on foot for a day of exploring Amsterdam. We went to the Van Gogh Museum, Heineken headquarters (we didn't do the tour, but we did go to the gift shop, read a pamphlet about the tour and had a Heineken afterward so it was kind of like our own tour), and just spent some time exploring the outskirts of the city.
We ate lunch at a restaurant that was crafted out of an old carousel in the park and were debating what to do. We were both still exhausted from the weekend, but wanted to see more of the city. We decided to rent bikes. We ended up biking around for about three hours and cruised around some cute neighborhoods and found an amazing park. Side note - when riding through the park Brian shouted "Hey - I stayed at that hotel before." Apparently B suddenly recognized the hotel he stayed at when he was in Amsterdam with pals in 2006. Fun times. We took a break in the park at a spot by a canal and watched some little Dutch children play soccer. It was a really great way to spend the afternoon.
After biking we went back to the hotel for our last night of the honeymoon. We ended up doing a hodge-podge for dinner and grabbed things from random restaurants we passed on the street (cheese, canoli, gyro, etc...) as we walked home. We spent the evening packing our belongings for the long flight home the next day.
