A few weeks ago our friends Dan and Autum came to visit. Brian and Dan went to college together (at UC-Santa Barbara) and Dan and Autumn currently live in Santa Barbabra...so lucky! While they were visiting Brian decided to take advantage of his annual beignets breakfast.
For those of you who don't know beignets are popular in New Orleans (he gets the mix when the 49ers play the Saints) and are essentially fried dough. Brian is only allowed to make them once a year :) It is quite a production (see photos) and the meal always ends with a powdered sugar fight. If you're lucky maybe you'll be the lucky ones in town for Beignet Day 2009!

yummy... the only thing we eat for breakfast are eggs and if we have money that week, we can afford some ham and possibly bread! yummy beignets!
